Chunky bespoke terrazzo for City refurbishment

25 Watling Street together with 10 Bow Lane (which were found to have originally been four separate buildings) have been stripped out and refurbished to create contemporary offices. This huge reconstruction of several listed buildings has taken place behind an historic façade which has been retained.

Diespeker was commissioned to create bespoke terrazzo paving for the restroom floors, hallways to restrooms and reception areas.

The terrazzo is an unusual and striking design, dark grey with chunky offcuts of Carrara marble. The design was agreed after Diespeker undertook three months of sample preparation using various combinations of coloured terrazzo and marble at our South East London factory.

The project also involves extensive repair work to terrazzo on two existing staircases. Diespeker’s expertise with the repair and refurbishment of terrazzo is key to the sustainability of the material.

The location of the project is undoubtedly a fascinating part of London to work in and explore, with St Paul’s Cathedral and the historic lanes in proximity to the most modern retail and dining experiences presented by Cheapside and One New Change.

Project completion scheduled for early March.
