CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2025

Back to Chelsea – with terrazzo using low carbon cement

Over the years we’ve contributed in various ways to gardens at RHS flower shows, and 2025 is no exception.

This year at the RHS Chelsea Garden Show, Diespeker terrazzo features in the London Square Chelsea Pensioners Garden, one of the Small Show Gardens.
This terrazzo, made using a low carbon cement binder, has been used for a bench and two tables tucked into a corner of the garden, designed by garden and landscape designer, Dave Green of Dave Green Gardens.

This is the description on the RHS Chelsea Garden Show website:
“Working with the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea Pensioners, London Square aims to reflect the 300-year-old heritage of “a home for soldiers broken by age and war.” The garden is a place for the Pensioners to share or to enjoy quiet reflection.

A woodland space, filled with striking trees offers a sheltered, accessible central space with seating upholstered in recycled Pensioners’ scarlet uniforms and a world map table creating an immersive, natural environment to encourage the Pensioners, their families and visiting veterans to come together away from public view.

Vibrant planting to the garden boundaries reflects the ceremonial life of the Pensioners, with calmer and more textural planting to the centre capturing their more private moments.”

The terrazzo element was delivered and installed by our team on May 15 ready for the show’s opening on May 20.

After the show, the garden, including the terrazzo, will be relocated to its new permanent home, fittingly the Prince of Wales Court in the grounds of the Royal Hospital.

Update – the garden won a coveted RHS Gold Medal. Many congratulations.
