Diespeker gets the gong

With so many worries in the world at the moment, there was a chink of light in Bermondsey when the Diespeker team received the news that the company has won the Tomorrow’s Tile & Stone Awards 2020.

The product that helped earn the accolade was terrazzo TE081 and its imaginative use in a commercial tea bar. Introduced by Diespeker in 2019, TE081 has a cream base with large chunks of strongly coloured marble and smaller, neutral chippings. It has received lots of compliments, especially when on display as part of Diespeker’s stand at the recent Surface Design Show.

Managing Director, John Krause said: “I’m delighted to learn about our success in these awards; it is a real boost to receive such an accolade.

“Diespeker has gone from strength to the strength over the past few years, we’ve worked on some inspiring projects – and we’ve come up with some inspiring solutions! The whole team has worked incredibly hard, so this award is as much about them as it is the terrazzo.”

For tea bar Denj, an eye-catching curved counter required strips of the terrazzo to be carefully stuck together before being ground down to produce a smooth curve, plus pre-cutting in the Diespeker factory to enable installation of an Uber Boiler built-in water drain, scales and timer, countertop pitcher rinser and waste chute.

Suitable for both commercial and residential projects, TE081 is available from Diespeker’s Standard range. It’s a resin based terrazzo and kept stocked in 12, 20 and 30mm thickness.

The TTS Awards, which shine the spotlight on some of the products and projects featured in the magazine over the past year, are judged by public vote – so we would like to thank everyone who voted for us.

This is the second time Diespeker has won these awards in just three years and we are pleased to add it to our growing trophy cabinet at Diespeker HQ!
