Diespeker launches in-house pendulum testing

The Health & Safety culture in the UK is almost second to none globally and we are proud to be associated with such levels of excellence.

Within our own sector, the marked increase in concerns about slip resistance over the past year, plus the rise of the compensation culture generally has led Diespeker to evaluate and improve the service we offer.

As a consequence, we have been busy formalising the adherence of our floors to the required standards. We are delighted to say that most of Diespeker’s flooring surfaces already meet or exceed the Health & Safety recommended minimum value of 36PTV.

However, taking this a step further we are pleased to announce that we can now offer pendulum testing in-house. As many suppliers outsource this service, it is a real bonus for us to be able to provide this as part of our comprehensive in-house provision.

For architects, designers and contractors it means that slip testing is much more prompt because we can immediately evaluate the slip resistance of any of our natural stone or flooring options prior to specification.

In future months (when we are able to welcome clients to our premises again) we look forward to being able to live-test the surfaces under discussion with the client present. If a surface doesn’t meet compliance, we can then look at other options, such as changing the grade of finish, opting for cement rather than resin (or vice versa) or choosing marble over granite.

Our new pendulum testing service is carried out by our trained, certified team members, and means that clients will be better informed to make decisions right at the start of a project and will be able to save a great deal of time.

We will provide a full written report and our in-house certificate once the flooring is installed (please note, this is a Diespeker certificate, not BSI or UKSRG).

Non Slip 21

To ensure compliance, Diespeker has also introduced world renowned Non Slip 21 treatment from Safety Direct Group Team who provide the professional installation service. The full service includes:

  • Floor preparation for the installation of Non Slip 21 application
  • Installation of Non Slip 21
  • Testing with the pendulum meter to ensure 36PTV + has been achieved
  • Providing a full written report with certification, cleaning regime and 1 – 5 years warranty (T&C apply)

Price on application.

In a nutshell, our full range of products can now be specified and installed with complete knowledge and peace of mind. We’re available to discuss both our pendulum testing service and Non Slip 21, so please get in contact for more information.
