MD John Krause recently combined a family holiday with another feat of athleticism on the world stage in Penticton, Canada.
John took part in two events, the duathlon and long-distance triathlon (which he describes as a three-quarter Ironman).
The standard (as opposed to sprint) duathlon consisted of a 10K run, 40K bike ride finishing with a 5K run, the triathlon, a 3K swim, 120K cycle and 30K run.
John says his performance was a little under par as he was distracted by a flurry of new business for Diespeker back home in London, but his overall position was 349th out of 603 contestants, and he came 3rd for GB in his age group.
John says that there were apparently more athletes taking part than in the Winter Olympic Games!
Well done John, we are proud of your amazing endurance!
