Lockdown terrazzo competition attracts inspirational entries

We were really looking forward to receiving entries for our lockdown competition to design a bespoke terrazzo during the current Covid-19 restrictions.

The idea was to come up with an original design that could be used as the surface for a side table. After a quiet start when we were all slightly on tenterhooks, the entries started flooding in, with a final flurry over the Easter weekend before the deadline of April 13.

And what a fantastic array of designs arrived, showing a huge range of creative approaches, from beautiful aesthetics to environmental awareness and some simply for fun!

Deciding which one is our outright winner was always going to be a really hard task. So we brought on board Emily Murray of The Pink House, who we have worked for part of the amazing renovation project for her house in Lewisham.

We can reveal that Emily has now chosen her top three designs from the entries and they are all great choices.

The final decision is now down to our Managing Director John Krause – so watch this space!

Once the winning design has been chosen the terrazzo will be created for real at the Diespeker factory and made up into a table for the winner (timings for this will depend on up to date government guidelines for the coronavirus crisis).

Thank you to everyone who entered, every entry was a joy to see.
