As a marble specialist, Diespeker is well known for our skills in creating beautiful marble flooring and walls, countertops and plinths.
However, we are always keen to rise to the challenge of niche projects, and one came our way recently, when the Cellar Society asked the team to produce 30 trays with marble insets for an upmarket event.
The trays were to be used to serve canapés for the opening of a luxury fashion house on Bond Street. With guests used to exquisite luxury, only the best would do.
The marble of choice was White Carrara, an Italian marble with grey veins that has a timeless and classic quality, exuding sophistication.
This was one of our tightest timescales, with the trays to be delivered on June 6th requiring the marble insets to be inserted, the edges sanded down and the trays to be ready for delivery to the Cellar Society on June 7th for use at the event on June 8th.
By 6pm on June 6th, the marble had been cut to size and milled to required thickness. The following morning the challenge was to trim to size, finish edges and seal and set each individual piece.
There was a slight snag on the morning of the 7th when the team discovered that the trays that had been delivered were bigger than the prototype. However, the deadline was looming so all the stops were pulled out and the trays were delivered on time to the Cellar Society.
We’re sure that fashion’s finest enjoyed the canapés and the chic surface they were served on.
