After the neutral tone of last year’s Dulux Colour of the Year Brave Ground, it’s nice to see more of a zing in the 2022 colour, the cheerfully titled Bright Skies.

Dulux releases a new colour each year to reflect the mood of the moment. While Brave Ground was fairly sombre and comforting, Bright Skies feels optimistic and airy.

Bright Skies is the result of the collaboration of a panel of international design experts, whose discussions took in topics such as the expanding role of the home; how nature is essential to our lives; how the arts can bring us comfort and inspiration; how important it is to embrace new voices and ideas for a brighter future.

Although it’s a blue, which can be a dominating paint colour, Bright Skies is actually a lovely light shade which opens up a room and can be paired with many other colours and tones.

When it comes to terrazzo tiles or worktops to pair with Blue Skies, we think there is scope for cool, classy designs or more dramatic feature surfaces. Here are just some suggestions:

TE001 – everyone’s favourite white terrazzo for a crisp, cool surface

TE031 – a very classy, grey-based terrazzo which does what it says on the tin

TE081B – black and blue will never do? We beg to differ!

TE114 – one of the most popular terrazzo designs of 2021 giving a lift to any kitchen

TE142 – dare to be different with this statement terrazzo showcasing golds, greens and terracotta

Don’t forget, we also have plenty of classic marbles, granites and conglomerates to browse too.
