Granite

Granite is a natural igneous rock formed by volcanic activity. As a material, it is almost as strong as diamonds; hard, durable and scratch resistant. The igneous rock has an enduring quality and is often looked upon as a symbol of status and strength.

The mix of minerals and rocks, primarily quartz, gives the material a wide range of colour variations – the most popular of which are white, pink, grey and black. Whilst being extremely durable and easy to maintain, granite is porous and has the potential to stain unless treated and maintained correctly.

Colour variations are determined by the individual composition of quartz, mica and feldspar and other minerals. It can be polished to a high gloss finish.
