London-based contemporary design studio Kangan Arora was invited to create a decorative 25 metre façade and signage for this year’s London Design Fair at the Truman Brewery. This was commissioned to welcome over 25,000 visitors and guide them through the event.
The studio, which specialises in vivid print and interior-fashion textiles, decided to pull together a variety of materials used in design to construct a ‘Shapescape’.
Diespeker was one of the innovative design-led suppliers approached by Kangan Arora to add creativity to the mix, due to our pioneering work and ability to make bold and unique terrazzo using a variety of dyes and aggregate.
Diespeker supplied a range of standard and bespoke terrazzo. These included a bespoke terrazzo incorporating four marbles – Rosso Lavante, Calacatta Dove Grey and Light Emprodor – and an unusual pinkish terrazzo with Carrara marble, as well as the popular standard TE007.
Other materials used in the installation were supplied by other innovative companies; Corian, Perspex, Smile Plastics, Sofalca and Cianciullo Marmi.
The installation was a huge success, causing both visitors to the event and passers-by to stop and take a good look!
