Marble Fireplace surrounds
A classic choice that brings elegance and character to any space, marble is prized for its natural veining and timeless appeal. No two slabs are ever the same, ensuring a truly bespoke result.
While marble does not have the same heat resistance as granite, it is perfectly safe for use in most domestic fireplace settings and can be finished to suit both period and modern designs.
Granite fireplace surrounds
Granite is an exceptionally hard-wearing and durable material, making it ideal for fireplace surrounds. With excellent heat resistance, granite is suitable for use with wood-burning, gas, electric and ethanol fires.
Available in a wide range of colours and textures, each granite slab has its own unique pattern and character.
Terrazzo fireplace surrounds
Terrazzo is an ideal option for contemporary fireplace designs. Cement-based terrazzo is suitable for use around fireplaces and offers excellent heat resistance, while resin-based terrazzo should be avoided near heat sources so is only used for a decorative rather than working fireplace.

Conglomerate fireplace surrounds
Conglomerate stone offers a consistent, refined appearance that makes it an excellent choice for fireplace surrounds in both modern and traditional interiors. Manufactured using carefully selected natural aggregates, conglomerate provides strength, durability and a uniform finish that is difficult to achieve with some natural stones.
It is suitable for use around fireplaces when correctly specified, offering reliable performance alongside greater control over colour, pattern and overall design.

Design considerations for bespoke fireplace surrounds
Our expertise in bespoke stone projects means we can manufacture fireplace surrounds to a wide range of specifications. Using state-of-the-art CNC cutting equipment alongside traditional masonry techniques, we advise on both aesthetic and functional parameters — including proportions, mantle thickness, structural support and integration with existing hearths or chimney breasts.
Diespeker’s process
Usually, our team will visit to measure up, ensuring a perfect fit. We then make up the fireplace surround to the client’s design, including adding details in our factory, before delivering and installing the finished product.
We can also make the fireplace surround without a site visit, from the client’s specification. This can be delivered and installed or collected by the client for self-installation.

As each product is bespoke-made, pricing is quoted once the design, including features and profiles, and materials are agreed
