Amazingly it’s a year since we ran our ‘terrazzo lockdown competition’, which challenged people to come up with an original terrazzo design.
We have been working on some of the winning and runners-up designs, although these have had to be squeezed in between our commercial and residential bespoke terrazzo work. Of course we’ve also had two further lockdowns with their varying restrictions.
However, we’re delighted to say that one of the runner up designs has now been completed. This very original design was dreamed up by Robert Ware, whose inspiration was brown glass from beer bottles, based on the increase in beer sales from local breweries in SE1.
The finished terrazzo has been created as a square table top for Robert. It’s really striking with the brown glass and stones that Robert supplied set into a contemporary grey base colour. The Diespeker bespoke terrazzo team is delighted with the result. We hope Robert is too!
We will be moving on with the other designs in the coming months when the bespoke team has a window, so watch this space.
