Stoneman becomes Ironman

Diespeker’s Managing Director John Krause really pushed himself to the limit when he took part in his first Ironman race in Weymouth.

The race comprised a 3.8km open water sea swim in Weymouth Bay, a 180km bike course through the Dorset countryside and a 42km run in the town of Weymouth ‒ along the esplanade and down the infamous ‘beer mile’.

John, an experienced international marathon runner, said:

This was a very different experience and an immense challenge. I’m not sure I’d do it again, but I’m proud to have completed such a tough race.

He finished the race in 13 hours, 28 minutes and 59 seconds, coming 12th in his category.

John also recently ran a marathon in Guernsey coming 27th out of 175 runners in 3 hours, 39 minutes and 48 seconds.
