Terrazzo Inspo for Pantone Colour of the Year 2026

Terrazzo pairings for this “billowy white imbued with a feeling of serenity”.

There’s been a fair amount of controversy surrounding Pantone colour of the year for 2026.

‘Cloud Dancer’ is described as “a billowy white imbued with a feeling of serenity”. The thinking behind the choice is that it represents the collective sense that society is “craving respite, less noise, less fun, more simplicity” and an opportunity to embrace a “fresh start.”

Critics have branded it “boring” and “painfully tone deaf” – with some questioning whether it is actually a colour at all!

For terrazzo fans, the good news is that just about every design imaginable will partner with this neutral backdrop. As Laurie Pressman, vice-president of Pantone Color Institute, said, it is “a key structural color … allowing all colors to shine”.

Below are some of our suggestions, but to be honest, the world is your oyster. Though perhaps choosing a more colourful terrazzo will counterbalance the white.
So, once you’ve painted your walls with Cloud Dancer, take your pick from our extensive range!

Strong contrast

TE126 a white base with striking grey, yellow, green, orange and white chunks and chippings
TE081B a dramatic black background peppered with ochre, grey, white and terracotta chunks and chippings
TE106 an intense dark grey base with black, white, yellow and green chippings

Subtle contrast

TE084C a white background with small chippings in terracotta, green and black, with a crisp finish.
TE177 white background with brown, pale grey and white larger size chippings
TE127 with a greyer base and white and grey chippings
