Diespeker makes moves at the London Marathon

A huge well done to our two marathon runners, MD John and Foreman David for successfully completing the London Marathon 2023!

The race this year was slightly hampered by weather, leading to challenging wet roads.

John ran a time of 3 hours 39 minutes at a very steady pace, which he was delighted with. He was placed 195th in his category. And of course, this was a particularly special race for John, his 200th marathon! He says beforehand he followed some of the tips he gave a national newspaper but, he says, “I couldn’t resist a couple of glasses of wine and some
ice cream!”

For David, his very first marathon was tough, but he completed the course in just over 5 hours, an achievement he should feel very happy with. He said: “The experience of all the people uniting together was just incredible – I met some lovely people along the way.”

Seasoned runner John said he was super proud of David and hoped he would sign up again: “24 hours later hopefully the pain has already faded away and David is making plans for London Marathon 2024!”

Between them the pair raised nearly £4000, with John supporting Diabetes UK and David fundraising for Fight for Sight.

Congratulations to John and David, both Diespeker superstar marathon men!
