Trending Terrazzo with Kelly – August

I can’t quite believe that we’re most of the way through the summer!

We haven’t quite had the heatwave we might have liked, but there’s still time for late summer sun (fingers crossed).

Here at Diespeker HQ we’ve been having a busy time of it, with some major projects underway or about to start. Do take a minute to visit our news page for updates on these.

Sample-wise we recently sent out a newsletter highlighting our new agate-style terrazzo – and we were amazed at the interest we received. We sent out 40 samples straight away! This is a very special, luxury-standard material – the words extravagant, sumptuous and opulent come to mind. Definitely one for high end projects or a little luxury at home – personally I like the idea of using it as a back lit feature wall. We’re hoping to make some coasters to sell on our Diespeker Living site, so keep an eye open for these – you might want to treat your cuppa to a flashy new coaster!

If you’d like to be added to our newsletter you can sign up here. We won’t bombard you with news but you may just spot a new addition to our range that is perfect for your next project.

We remain as busy as ever on the worktop front, making standard and bespoke terrazzo worktops for residential kitchens and commercial offices. One popular terrazzo at the moment is TE113.  This is a resin terrazzo and one of a range of designs using a mix of terracotta, browns, greens, oranges and pinks set in a white background.

It’s ideal to work with lots of different interior decoration palettes but it’s a busy pattern so needs block colours on the walls. You can take a look here.

On personal note I’m pleased to say that my daughter Ayla has joined the Diespeker team for a work placement over the summer. She has a real passion for Art and really loves all the patterns and colours of Diespeker’s materials. I’m hoping she may like it so much that she’ll join us more permanently in the future, perhaps for an internship. It’s great to encourage the next generation into the world of terrazzo!

Finally, good luck to the team involved in the Southampton Marathon on September 5th raising funds for our charity stem4. Some are running and others are taking a more leisurely pace with the half marathon walk. If you’d like to make a donation and support teenage mental health, please visit the JustGiving page.”

Until next time,

Kelly
